I just did some research and found out pornography is as addicting as cocaine. What can I do to stop watching?

I watch a lot of porn, so let me start by saying that. I watch a bare minimum of around an hour or pornographic material a day, when I come home from school and right before I go to bed. Aside from that, most weekdays I masturbate 1 time, and the other days I masturbate twice. On weekends I masturbate twice usually.

Anyway, today I did some research and found out pornography is as addicting as cocaine. That’s bad news for me, because I’ve been trying to break the habit. By the way, this has nothing to do with girls in real life, I have a girlfriend and all that. I’m 14 years old, and I’ve been looking at pornography for about six years or so.

SO how can I kick the habit?

you could start doing cocaine lol jk. Who cares everyone does it, it just means you’re not gay. The only way you can really stop is to either turn off your internets (lol) or have the will power to not look up naked girls.

BTW Dr. Drews like a fake doctor dont bother with him

Honestly, your masturbation levels are normal, ask your doctor and I can almost guarantee that they will agree. As for what you use, that is your choice. Your age is cause for concern however, particularly because you are accessing adult material. That is unusual and may be signs of a deeper problem, physical or otherwise. I would highly suggest seeing a doctor and maybe a counselor. And no, this does not mean you’re crazy, just that you need to talk to someone who is unbiased.

Decide if this is how you want to continue with your life and make appropriate changes. You have the power to change your life. Develop other interests in your life and find other ways to spend your time. Good luck.

Cocaine, unfortunately, affects the same part of the brain that sex does. That makes it extremely hard for a “rock star” to quit with the rocks.

You have the reverse issue, a problem that causes the same kind of gratifying feeling that cocaine does. A problem of significant magnitude to be sure. So don’t beat on yourself too much (pun intended – lol)

The only thing I’ve known to work is the 12 steps and religion. Both are USE THE SAME methodology.

    The 12 Steps

Step 1 – We admitted we were powerless over our addiction – that our lives had become unmanageable

Step 2 – Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity

Step 3 – Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God

    ==================

At the risk of sounding overly or overtly religious to you… i’m going to go out on a limb and say that maybe you’re not a bad boy as much as we all have serious issues to deal with – which in turn gives God a way to demonstrate his existence and magnificence. He specializes in seemingly impossible/irresolveable issues.

    John 9:2-4 (King James Version)

2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

If you do what you do as much as you do then you know (better than any “expert” would) what it does to your mind. Take heed.
