About 7 months ago my boyfriend stopped drinking. After he stopped he depended on marijuana every time he was depressed or stressed. I have been told that marijuana isn’t addicting but it seems like every time he doesn’t have it he gets very mad and i get yelled at for no reason. can it be that he is still recovering for alcoholism? Also, are his mood swings a result of drug dependency?
Some people refer to this as the ‘marijuana maintenance program’ after they quit drinking. I’ve heard so many people tell me marijuana isn’t addictive but I had an ex that smoked daily and when he didn’t have it he was cranky and moody as hell. If he believes he’s an alcoholic, he should think about going to AA. AA isn’t there just to keep you from drinking, it helps you deal with the reasons WHY you were drinking in the first place. It sounds obvious he’s got some issues and now he’s just replaced the alcohol with weed.
