I just saw the news about a mob boss captured. They were showing hundreds of kilos in cocaine and marijuana that they confiscated. What does the US do with all the drug and drug money??? You never hear about that.
What does the US government do with drug money? What do they do with all the drug they confiscate??
Treasury dept.
Money – pocketed and/or kept by the Gov’t for whatever.
The drugs? Resold on the street for more $$$
i think they are required by law to give it to charity but i am not sure
it “disappears”

I think they keep the drugs as evidence until after the trial etc. Then I think its destroyed.
Property in many cases is auctioned off or reused by the deptartments.
Money- Think it goes to treaury of the jurisdiction + I’m sure they use some of that to fund their own activities (e.g. interdiction, equipment, overtime/salaries, payola money for undercover, etc.)
Many times, they use it to set up big deals to catch more criminals. You would be amazed where a lot of the stuff that is confiscated goes. Some police organizations are paid for 100% by drug busts and they make quite a good living.
Did you know that if you are pulled over and cited with any drug related offense, they can immediately impound and confiscate your vehicle? The war on drugs is great for the US government.
They split it up amongst each other.
they confiscate and use it as evidence, then after the case, they destroy the drugs, and the put the money back into circulation
AS for the money, it is spend to “improve” weapons on the drug war. As for the drugs, from the actions of our government these last years I would say the use it behind closed doors when they make decisions on policy
They put it in their BLACK FUND to finance covert operations.
