		<description>There are differing  views Some see it as a disease, others as a mental weakness. Personally, I think there is a definite predisposition toward developing alcoholism. Like diabetes, and many other metabolic problems run in families. Some will develop it, and others not. 

Alcoholism is never cured, like diabetes, only can be &#039;arrested&#039; so to speak, by not drinking. Hard for most to do, but not beyond hope. It creates a lot of Psych problems for the person, and for the family and friends.</description>

In most cases it is considered a disease because its out of control.

Voluntary action is a part of it.  But like I said, it depends on the person.</description>
