What I find interesting is the hypocrisy of the news media who didn’t find it the least bit relevant that Obama was a chronic user of marijuana and an admitted cocaine user…..but can’t stop talking about Michael Phelps. Obama was running for president!!!!

You have to hunt far and wide to find anything more pathetic than the U.S. Media. Many news people are sophisticated traitors. The credibility of the Media is down the toilet.
They ignored George W Bush and his drug History on South Padre Island Texas as well.
It must be okay for a liberal president but not an olympic swimmer.
Funny how they have selective reporting huh. And people still cannot see how slanted their news is.
The left owns the media so it is not a surprise. If the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Strabenow and Harkin get their way, we can soon have a complete system of totalitarianism with no opposing speech and only government controlled media.
Obama wrote about his drug use in his books. Phelps was caught using a bong pipe. It is interesting how there was no mention of it during the campaign. Phelps probably also got screwed because he was an athlete and this was a relatively recent photograph.
ha, good point
The media doesn’t talk about the past. They talk about the present.
If they talked about the past then there would be no reason to call it “news.” I knew this by using my common sense. And since you didn’t know this, well, that shows something. I almost feel sorry for you, but your ignorant, so I don’t.
And isn’t it amazing that the homosexual community seems to be so upset over Michael Phelps getting his hands slapped over this, But don’t seem to show interest when this commonly occurring type thing happens to others ? You think if Michael Phelps was fat , ugly and a nobody as opposed to a ripped olympic swimmer they would be as interested ? And homosexuals would be so quick to defend him ? I don’t believe so . God bless.
Michael Phelps is an athlete, and has a super-wholesome, squeaky-clean image, and his drug use just came to light recently.
I actually think it’s interesting that some conservatives worry about the media persecuting the innocent, common man… For example, some conservatives felt it was unfair that the media looked into the background and personal economic history of “Joe the Plumber.”
Why is it that (some) Conservatives feel sorry for individuals who are “attacked” by the media? I don’t totally understand it. Michael Phelps is a public figure, who made a business out of his image. It’s logical that he would be scrutinized. “Joe the Plumber” also put himself in the public spotlight, and made public statements about his finances, in order to make a political point.
Why do (some) Conservatives feel the media is “mean” in this way? It is something I don’t relate to.
Well, I for one have long ago decided that whatever the media does is for their benefit, not ours. They tell us what they want us to know and most of us in this country suck up the inconsistencies, double standards, misleading information, spin, and out right lies like a sponge. Truth and facts along with ethics have gone the way of the dinosaurs in the media.
Frankly, Obama’s drug use in the past, George Bush’s drug use and drinking in the past are not important. Neither is a President having a sexual liason with an intern in the oval office apparently.
What is important is what an elected president does that affects the country. Had the Republican Party forced a bill with 800 billion dollars of spending through Congress in 12 hours, the blood curdling screams from the left and the media would be heard on the moon. George Bush would have been hung in effigy on the mall in Washington for this and yet there’s not one peep from the media or the sheeple on the left. Obama wants it therefore it must be the gospel and we cannot get in the way of what Mr. Obama desires. This lack of concern for anything involving the exposure of lies and deciet has been fostered by the media and the american public is too lazy, too busy with their own lives, and too ignorant of our country’s history to care. Hell, they can’t even remember what Obama said during the campaign besides the words hope and change.
So, all I can say is that yes, it is interesting at least to me, but absolutely not surprising.
You are being dishonest by misrepresenting the facts. Most media are not judging Phelps. They are reporting the facts about his case and are mostly sympathetic.
The facts about drug use by Obama and Bush were also reported and mostly not seriously judged.
The real culprit here is the public that condones the “War on Drugs”, a political scam. If drug possession were decriminalized with respect to adult use, the street price would drop to near-zero. That would destroy the traffic and the Taliban.
If you’re looking for the culprit, find a mirror.
And let’s all boycott Kellog products.
