I live in a nice suburban neighborhood in Wisconsin. Yesterday, my neighbor was just arrested and put in jail. The news said that the police went into his home and searched the place and found him with 25g of cocaine. I was just wondering how they knew to go in there? Did someone rat him out? Were the police watching our neighborhood for a while or fallowing him around after getting a tip? What is necessary for police to be able to raid a home?

In order to search the house, they need a search warrant issued by a judge. In order to get a warrant, they need to show the judge good reason to issue the warrant. This could be a tip from an informant or could be based on your neighbor selling drugs to an undercover police officer.
in order to get the warrant the cops must have had “probable cause” to believe that the dude had the coke (they would have to convince a judge to issue the warrant based on some reliable input from somewhere!).
most likely source of that probable cause is someone ratting on him or maybe they have been watching him and had an informant make a buy from him.
either way, better that he isn’t around.
coke isn’t stuff to mess with. it’s ruined alot of lives.
well, all the police or DEA need to raid a possible traffickers home is a valid search warrant which would be issued by a judge ….. in order to get there must be probable cause to issue one. some things that would fall into here would be info from a narc (undercover narcotics officer) who he sold drugs to, an informant for the police ( quite possibly the last person busted in the area who made a deal to rat others out ), could have been a lot of People coming in and out of his residence ……………. or maybe ur neighbour is just a heat bag!
maybe it’s because of there criminal record ,or maybe they were caught on a Security Camera , maybe somebody rat him out …
but what’s more important is that the drug dealers are caught , which is a happy news .
