How to word alcoholic drinks on wedding website?

We are serving beer, wine, champagne and maybe a signature drink at our reception plus of course tea and punch I hate the word beer on my website so is there any way to put that there will be alcoholic drinks but not a full bar?

I think it would be best to say beer even though it doesn’t sound fancy…just because otherwise it might cause confusion.

  2. Lucy says:

Cocktails will be available. Or you could say non-alcoholic and alcholic beverages will be served.

  3. James S says:

just refer to it as a “limited open bar”

  4. eqaddix says:

    Cocktails and spirits

  5. Demosthenes says:

    “Limited bar available.”

  6. Dennis says:

    Liquor will be served.

  7. Greyhound Mama says:

    I would word it:
“Tea, Punch, and Adult Beverages will be served”

or “Adult Beverages and soft drinks will be served”

You can use brand names. the people who drink them will know what it is, and the ones who don’t won’t care

  9. K M says:

    Traditional Bar Available.

I think that’s called a “California Bar.” Of course, you really don’t have to notify people in advance that they’ll be “stuck” with beer instead of whiskey. :)

    Alcohlic Beverage
    or
    Alcoholic Refreshments

    Hope these help.
    Good Luck!!

draught or draft is a good way to describe beer without using the word beer. If you put ale or lager, etc you would be misleading ppl if the beer served was not technically so.
You can also say that a selection of spirits will be served during the reception.
    Hope that helps

If you have a hang up with the word beer, than you have bigger problems than this.

Just write “No hard alcohol will be served, “

Googling, I found two answers. One school of thought finds it inappropriate to mention the presence of alcohol. The other words it something like

    “Please join us for
    appetizers, dancing, and cash bar
    at time
    venue
    address”

on a reception card separate from the invitation.

    Just say limited bar!
But make sure you put it in a tactful way.
Like, put it with your menu and reception information. Don’t just make it a random side-note.

You could simply state; a selection of drinks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Making a statement like this informs your guests of both types of drinks being served at your wedding. You won’t have to worry about listing all the drinks. It sounds less abrasive, and a bit classy.

  19. AshleyD says:

    Adult beverages OR
    Cocktails OR
    Cold Beverages/Wine/Champagne

there’s no reason to warn people about the bar situation at all. I don’t think that belongs on your wedding website. you don’t have to post your full menu either. if there’s a meal choice just put it on the rsvp cards for people to check off if they want beef or fish or whatever.

    call it Ale instead.

Why would you have to mention it at all? No one lists on their invites what’s going to be served, I don’t know why this would be any different. I mean seriously, what’s the point? In case the guests don’t like the list and decide to bring their own? Or not come because you don’t have every kind of alcohol possible? Are you going to list what type of wine you’re planning on? ou’re not going to list the whole food menu too, are you?

  23. Breanne says:

    Beverages :)

  24. Gillian says:

“Limited Open Bar” or “Select Open Bar” are usually the proper wordings for such things. Although you are not required to tell anyone that kind of information, if it’s too much of an issue, then just skip it!
