I am applying for a job with the Marriot to hostess and maybe wait tables in one of their restaurants. They want to know if I am eligible to serve alcohol, and I am 18. I will not be applying for any bar-tending positions, so do I need some kind of special license or anything? Or does age automatically qualify you to serve alcoholic beverages?
*The reason I ask is because they already asked previously if I were at least 18, so I don’t know if they are just being thorough or if there are any extra requirements.

The requirement to serve alcohol is that you must be 18 years of age. I was a bartender/server when I was 18 and that is what I was told. There is no special license or certification to get. (I am from Florida as well)
Here is a link that explains it further:

I know here in Missouri you can serve alcohol at the age of 18 but you can not pour alcohol unless you are 21 or older. This may be true nationwide but I am not to sure.
