What is this Greek alcoholic drink usually after dinner?

I remember when i was in Crete a few years back, after eating out in a restaurant, they always used to bring round a free alcoholic drink. It was usually either blue/red/yellow/purple i think. so there was maybe different flavours. but does anyone know what the drink is called?

ouzo? … I think that’s how it’s spelled, or something like that:)

ouzo is the national drink in Greece, but it is clear, until mixed with water or ice, when it turns milky.

Nasty stuff. Tastes like black licorice. I have no idea what you were served.

It was called “raki”. The people in Crete love to make foreigners and Greeks from other places drink this for free when they visit Crete!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raki_(alcoholic_beverage)
