Question by i_come_from_under_the_hill: Can anyone suggest a good thesis statement relating to Alcoholism?
I’m writing a paper for an intro neuro-psychology class on Alcoholism, but I’m really having trouble thinking of a strong thesis statement. I’ve learned a lot about the disease, but I can’t settle on one idea that is strong enough for an entire paper. Any suggestions?

It’s a little hard to make a thesis because you don’t say what aspects of alcoholism you’re writing the paper on; the causes, the physical or psychiatric effects, or social effects, the treatments, diagnosis, the role gender plays in all this ….. it’s a really broad topic. If you wanted to, you could write your PhD dissertation on an aspect of alcoholism. Here are two totally different topics: The neurobiological effects of alcohol or health problems in alcoholic women.
Here is a site that might help you. They sell access to papers, which is really unfortunate, because I am NOT suggesting you buy one and turn it in! But if you read through the thesis statements, you should be able to narrow your focus a bit and settle on a thesis of your own.
