Question by Pa Chewy Chomp: Why won’t Obama lower the drinking age?
I think that it is so moronic that an “underage” troop that returns from Iraq or Afghanistan cannot drink a beer. That 21 year old drinking age is getting old; most European countries allow people 18 (sometimes younger) to drink beer and wine. If a person is old enough to die for their country in combat, they sure should be able to drink alcohol.

You can say that Xtina and Danial, but the fact of the matter is that most countries in the EU have an 18 (or less) drinking age. They do not have problems with DUI’s there, no more than the United States does. But then again I wouldn’t expect logic from a guy that never served one day on active duty.

Because the 18-21 year olds are not smart enough to get together and tie their vote to this issue.
Because teenagers are irresponsible.
I agree that members of our military should be able to drink at any age. However, I hope Obama is never in a position to have any thing to do with changing such.
is there a politican out there that will lower the drinking age.
No president could do that. The president does NOT have the power to declare laws invalid or void. Only Congress can pass or change laws.
Please read the Constitution.
He’s not very smart but at least he’s smart enough to not lower the drinking age. We did that once before and millions were killed by drunk kids driving.
I see your point of view, and I agree that american soldiers, should be able to drink, but only american soldiers.
Look at all the accidents and deaths that are caused by alcohol consumption followed by operation of a motor vehicle.
It’s just not worth it
