Question by ?: Anyone ever had a friend/gf/bf that you later found out was addicted or dependant on narcotic pain meds?
My fiance is on narcotics to due a chronic illness. Problem is I found out later on that his DR was perscribing a poop load of narcs. He lies to me, disrespects me and doesnt really care that he has done so. It was hard for me but I asked him to move out and told him I needed a break. Is this normal behavior for narcs?

It’s hard when your partner is addicted to anything! The behavior is very typical. It’s up to that person to make the choice that THEY are worth not giving up the drugs. If they give it up for you, they will never have that self gratification of being able to know that they are strong enough to give up the drugs for themselves. They have to feel that they are worth more. If you really love this guy, try a support group for yourself to understand what he is going through. If you show that kind of commitment, maybe he will turn around. Good Luck. Been there, done that and we turned out fine.
