Question by Everyones Entitled To My Opinion: How can I stop being lazy after giving up illegal drugs?
I have just recently decided to quit doing a wide range of illegal activities and I am trying to improve myself. I have quit narcotics, marijuana and cigarettes. Although, I am very proud that I am taking this journey to recovery, I have became very lazy and have no motivation. I am starting to feel very sad about giving up my awful habbits, but I know I am doing the right thing. The question is, can you give me some advice on how to become more motivated and some advice that will get me going, or suggestions on how to get more active.

go back to drugs
Seek professional help. There is no reason to take illegal drugs.
if you are asking this questions for real,go see a Dr and they will help you, and good job for doing that
Farely recently I guess? It will take a while if you used regularly, but try going for short walks and such, giving everything up at once was a tough decision, hope you make it love.
Join a Gym…
This is a very good question. And the answer is just as simple. TIME. It takes time but I will bet any thing in a few years you will look back and see how stupid it was to do all those drugs in the first place. Just give it time and stay focused. Try and get interested in some thing that you enjoy and away from the old friends you hung out with doing drugs. You made a smart move and you will not always now be looking over your shoulder. Life will start to get much better. TIME TIME TIME. Don’t worry life goes on real quick. Good Luck.
Take up a class in something you enjoy. Join BigBrothers/BigSisters or an advocacy program to help keep young people from making the mistakes you realize you have made. You can only learn from your mistakes, but you can teach others a great deal more. Good Luck.
exercise, take vitamins and berocca tablets. start getting up earlier, make it at first to do something fun like spend a few hours on the computer, so you have a motivation to get up at that time. being up early morning makes you feel more disciplined and motivated throughout the whole day.
Are you still hanging out with the same people who did drugs with you? Because i’m afraid you’ll have to ditch them cold turkey aswell. They’ll just drag you right down that dead end path again, and you don’t want that, do you?
Get some new friends, who don’t do drugs, get out and walk around the neighbourhood, join a sport team, join a support group, visit family, care for a pet, talk to a counsellor, just get out and do things that arn’t drug related.
Soon, you’ll have surrounded yourself with positive people, and like minded people, and it WILL get easier, trust me.
But the most important thing, and probably the one thing a lot of people like yourself arn’t prepared to do, is you need to completely leave your druggie friends behind.
Good luck, i wish i could help you more, but my advice comes from experience.
