Citing concern for his safety, a 42-year-old man pleaded no contest Monday to using methamphetamine, but insisted the substance was slipped in his food in retaliation for his testimony against an acquaintance who pleaded guilty to burglary.

Meth Lab Found After Safety Check Made For 5-Year-Old
Police found a working meth lab when they went to 1007 E. Dallas Road to check on the welfare of a five-year-old child. Three men were arrested at the residence, and the child was placed in protective custody.
