What kind of a person drinks beer next to a little kid at a basketball game?
I voted for this dude and so far…the product is not producing like I thought he would. He has hired a bunch of criminals, passed some questionable legislation and his agenda stinks of Socialism and Fascism. I didn’t want to believe all this was true until I saw a picture of this President of ours at a basketball game sipping on a beer. The problem that I have with this is that he just happens to be sitting next to a little boy. The president of the United States drinking beer next to a little boy. Before all you Obamanoids start getting all huffy puffy, ask yourself how you think he would feel if someone was drinking alcohol next to his lovely little girls? Judging from the answers that I got from this question, there seems to be a lack of morals in this country. I DO NOT DRINK IN FRONT OF MY KIDS!! OR ANYONE ELSE’S FOR THAT MATTER. YES IT IS A BIG DEAL, NOT BECAUSE IT WAS A BEER AT A BASKETBALL GAME BUT IT WAS NEXT TO A LITTLE BOY FOR C.O.L.!!! WHAT KIND OF EXAMPLE IS HE SETTING DOING THAT???? BEER IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE, IT’S A PERSON WHO SHOULD BE RESPECTED BY PEOPLE DRINKING NEXT TO A PRE SCHOOLER. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT.

I think it’s ridiculous and millions of parents drink beer or other things infront of their kids without their kids ever becoming drunks. If our attitude about certain things like alcohol or sex wasn”t so prudish we would have a lot less problems. The best way to atract someone to something is to forbid it.

Someone should hand the kid a beer…..after they explain what his future is gonna be like!! May as well build a tolerence now!! Anyway…if the libs have there way…soon there will be NO drinking age. Oh for god’s sake…the USA is a country filled with drunks and an obsession with alcohol. Drunks who kill people in car wrecks get a slap on the wrist…DUI is a joke when you see people getting their 7th or 8th and still driving…Booze is the easiest drug to obtain which gives major weight to it being the “gateway” drug…most so called christians in this country consume a large majority of booze in the USA…most politicians are booze heads…Repugs went after Joe the Camel calling the cartoon advertisement aimed at children, but allowed the Budweiser Frogs to go untouched.
Then of course you have former VP Cheney shooting someone with a shotgun and tossing out the same words drunk drivers say when they get pulled over, the standard lie of boozers “I only had one beer officer”…and former President GW Bush, an admitted former drunk.
And you are assailing Obama for sipping a beer in front of a kid? You admit you do not drink in front of your kids but I am sure you have a few and slur your words in front of them…..?
You losers are just bitter and angry and your hatred for the PRESIDENT OF THE USA is the same hatred you have for the USA.

There’s nothing wrong with demonstrating the MODERATE use of alcohol in front of children. It de-mystifies it in their minds and reduces the chances that they will abuse it when they are able to partake themselves.
My parents had the occasional drink in front of us as children and my granddad always had a beer at Fenway Park every time we went to a Red Sox game; something that we did hundreds of times as I was growing up. In fact, on “special” occasions we were allowed a small sip of wine or beer under their close supervision. There is nothing wrong with this.
Many European countries have very low or non-existent drinking ages. In Germany it’s 14 and France has none at all. They have no more problems with alcohol abuse in France or Germany than the US does, and LOWER instances of DUI than we do. (OK, the DUI penalties are much more severe in both France & Germany so that might explain at least some of the difference.)
At any rate, children imitate what adults do. Moderate use of alcohol demonstrates that there is nothing wrong with it and instills a healthy attitude towards it.
