Is there a program for families of those in Narcotics Anonymous, similar to Al-Anon?

Question by PediC: Is there a program for families of those in Narcotics Anonymous, similar to Al-Anon?
and if so, can you tell me if it’s useful in coping with having a drug addicted family member?

I’m sure there has to be one or something like a support group that you can go to. Try calling your towns social services department and they should be able to help you. Support groups can be very helpful because everyone is on the same boat.

    It would be logical to think “Narc-Anon” but the program that goes by that name is actually on offshoot of the church of scientology, so probably not the best help.

    You would probably find great support at an Al-anon meeting. I don’t know of a similar family program for drug abusers. Look in your local phone book and call the number for AA and ask them. There is often a central office that maintains schedules of meetings in your area.
