I remember attending Garys process groups a couple years back. For anyone out there that is considering drug treatment, I would highly encourage you to seek out help from Gary Richmond at Cliffside Malibu.

The program, dump the garbage was a big time help for me. I could see that it was helping most of the others in that process group as well. Gary Richmond is the real deal. A friend of mine is scheduled to visit the Montecito facility in June.

It is so sad that thousands of people die every year due to drug and alcohol abuse. Thanks to the rehab center in San Francisco, the number of people dying can rapidly decrease more any more every year.

That is so true what he said about finding the humor in things. Thanks to my sense of humor, and a good positive outlook, I think I am on my way to a full recovery.

Gary, it was so good to see you again, even if it was on a video screen. Your process groups helped me out so much and I really feel like I found myself while I was there.

First there is NO induced coma and is NOT 24hrs. This is a procedure done in a couple of hours while blood pressure, heart rate and vitals are controlled. Patients have a full pre exmaination and they are inpatient usually for 7 days to ensure not just comfort but safety. It is not as simple as you may think. These are experienced and trained doctors working in a hospital.

  8. opiatescom says:

It does not. It works with opiates only.

  9. Jsmooth7444 says:

If somebody has a habit, one 24 hour pharmacological induced coma doesn’t do shit for his psychological dependance. He says he feels no pain right now because he probably got dosed with a massive does of benzos/barbs to keep him sedated lol…this doctors a crock of shit with his “one way only way” method for the camera. again full of shit. anybody who wants to do what he just did can just stock up on benzos and dose themselves accordingly at home.

Does anyone know if this can help for Benzo?

@bresheehan nice comeback u shut him up……would like to know more of that knowledge stored in ur brain….could be of use to me…

@necroxeon I had this treatment and it works! Yes you still feel the withdrawals when you wake up but my belief is easy come easy go. You have to go through pain to appreciate being clean. My detox lasted 4 days after leaving the detox centre but now with that feeling tattooed in my mind it is another reason why i will never use that shit again. Rapid detox works and it makes it much easier than going cold turkey. I would prefer to detox from heroin 5 times than methadone once.

i have been an addict for years…. i would love to look more into this treatment where and how do i find out the information …. i am currently taking subutext which has helped alot but i dont want to have to continue to talk a pill for the rest of my life….

  15. warchild1976 says:

these are the drugs you government takes a share of the profit form how many lives dose this effect America you should be ashamed about your health care

  16. jillsilver007 says:

@WeDieYoung1083 They don’t tell you that after taking Subutex for years you will have to go through withdrawl to get off of it too. It’s horrible.

  17. jillsilver007 says:

@opiatescom I went through this 5 years ago after my pain dr. had me on methodone, oxycodone, and morphine for 6-7 years. It doesn’t make your cravings go away but it saves you from going through weeks and even months of horrible withdrawal pain. I went through this while on opiates AND methodone (they give you morphine and valium the entire time you’re in the hospital anyways) and had a good outcome. You don’t wake up “violently ill”. It’s extremely hard but has saved thousands of lives.

  18. dizzy87 says:

@redv8jeep EXACTLY MY THOUGHT! lets replace one drug for another, absolutly stupid.

  19. dizzy87 says:

@d9andy992 I feel bad for you, i had the same problem but luckily i am only 23 and kicked my habit very early due to suboxone. i hope things work out for you.

  20. dizzy87 says:

@WeDieYoung1083 you have no idea what you are talking about, Suboxone prevents one from getting high where as methadone doesn’t. I was a heroin addict for 5 years and just kicked the habit with suboxone and meetings. i gradualy dosed my self down for over a year and now i have no NEED to do heroin, sure i still get cravings but that is normal. I dont think the cravings will ever go away. so you my friend have no idea what you are talking about.

  21. dizzy87 says:

Oh so its switchs you from one drug to another, GENIUS

  22. ChristyKat77 says:

is it only for opiates? what if you’re overmedicated? This looks really interesting but risky. thanks for sharing this/posting.

  23. d9andy992 says:

its very hard to detox off methadone,i pray to god to end my life somtimes becos im to guttless to suicide ,11yrs on 110mg per day,i am alone, family dumped me completley 20yrs ago for stealing off them,i dont blame them ,i blame myself, frigin hard,so hard

  24. redv8jeep says:

im confused i thought this was mad good until the end where once again u gotta continue to take some pill.

  25. rsohlich1 says:

@WeDieYoung1083 yep its very hard to get off. I’ve been on subs for 4 yrs and its as hard to get off as heroin. TRUST me, please.

  26. opiatescom says:

@necroxeon I’m not really sure of the basis of your statement. With this treatment patients on over 200 mg of Methadone are able to be fully detoxed without the misery of months of withdrawal. This treatment is used by patients that have been using opiates for over decade and it works very well. It requires a combined effort of the patient to stay off opiates, but this is a humane detox that has brought life back to thousands of patients.

this treatment doesnt work with people with long time hard core habits like ..2 years or more daily use of heroin or methadone…..If u go on this while on methadone u will wake up violently ill, rapided detox…

  29. opiatescom says:

@kerryart88 no, this is an inpatient medical treatment that you would have to come in.

  30. LETMEINGUYS says:

@TheArmo1 but not everyone has it in them to get off drugs like u do . i cant stop taking them, i am a recovering alcoholic and have been off alcohol for 8 1/2 years but i had two surgeries after that that left me completely dependant on them and i want to come off of them so bad..its a different type of dependancy all together i know i have been both. so what is so wrong with trying something that has a 65-75% success rate? maybe thats all we have.
