WHO is UGLIER? A gorgeous girl who SMOKES & DRINKS or a Quasimoto looking chick who is CLEAN & SOBER ?

Question by IC core? Give it a coat!!!: WHO is UGLIER? A gorgeous girl who SMOKES & DRINKS or a Quasimoto looking chick who is CLEAN & SOBER ?
The above question is intended as a baseline example of the percieved “beauty” when / while smoking and or drinking.

What’s your take on the matter?

PS, Should employers limit or deny health coverage on the basis of (the knowledge that) an employee smokes and or drinks?

everyone is beautiful…yet people who drink and smoke make themselves look less attractive…beauty is what you feel inside that comes out on the outside…you have to believe your beautiful to be truly beautiful plus you age yourself quicker if you smoke and drink

I don’t know about the first question but as for the health coverage – No, I don’t think they should limit it for smokers because it’s an addiction (even more so than alcohol) and most people in their 40′s and up didn’t know at that time how bad it was, you know?

Beauty comes from inside. Since a smoker and drinker has polluted the inside, then I would assume the Quasimodo chick is less ugly.

Employers don’t pay higher rates health insurance rates based on the behavior of the employee so for that consideration, no. But if an employer decided to hire (or fire) based on the drinking/smoking of an employee then it would be fine. The reasoning is that an employee who drinks (to excess) and smokes is likely to require more sick days resulting in an unreliability factor as well as work product factor (based on hangovers, nicotine withdrawl, or excessive cigarette breaks).

Well, when you smoke and drink, ( even if you are gorgeous ) When you age, It will hit you. Apparently you get wrinkles and bags under you eyes etc. Being healthy tops looks, but you will also look better as time passes.

Well, I am not a heavy drinker, but I am a smoker. I also know that I am considered by most people to be a “beautiful” girl. I have had men that I don’t know tell me what a shame it is that a “gorgeous girl” like me smokes, and that it makes me less attractive, but that’s fine. I started smoking when I went through a rough patch in my life when I was 17. I’ve tried quitting, but haven’t yet succeeded. If someone is willing to judge me and cast me aside because of a weakness and addiction, without getting to know the person inside, that’s fine. Sounds to me like they are too judgemental.

And no, I do not think healthcare should be limited or denied to smokers and drinkers. Unless you also want to deny coverage to overweight people, people who live in heavily polluted cities, people with weak immune systems, reckless drivers, people who play sports, people who have multiple sex partners, or people who are just plain clumsy–so pretty much, everyone. We all have our potential health risks due to our individual circumstances. It is unfair to discriminate against certain groups just because you have a moral problem with their life choices.

I smoke and drink and I’m a total hottie. In fact, it’s where I have met most of the guys I’ve dated, at bars or outside of bars smoking a cigi. Maybe you should start.

No, that would be a creepy invasion of privacy.
