Question by Julia: Why does Seth “Shifty” Binzer always seem to pop up on sober house claiming to need treatment?
I know this is the 2nd time he has done it but I was wondering if it’s staged? clearly the guy isn’t going to stay sober,so why does he always seem to hit rock bottom and harass drew for help as soon as filming starts? are they paid or do they really want this? i wish them all the best i know recovery is an never ending battle,speaking from personnel experience,i just don’t see the sincerity in most of them .

I look at it this way. Seth knows Dr. Drew isn’t going to turn him away. Look how many times he has ‘rescued’ Kari Ann Peniche….just about as many times as he has ‘rescued’ Seth.
You say you know its a never ending battle speaking from personal experience…then you of all people should realize that these people are so sick. Look at what Mike has done over and over again? One minute hes rude and belligerent and the next hes trying to be loving and caring, apologetic. Dr. Drew said it can take upwards of six months to fully detox from a methadone addiction and that is why Mike is constantly still feeling (during the show) ‘dope sick’.
I honestly don’t think Seth is a media whore….he wants to make music but he knows in order to do that, he needs to get well and he knows Dr. Drew isn’t going to turn him away.
I do think that if he does relapse again…Dr. Drew will tough love him and say no. Which will be a shame b/c Seth is amazingly talented IMO and he really needs to get and stay clean for Halo.
