I don’t have a medical answer for you, I am sorry, but I am guessing that you can. I was on it briefly, and if it worked for you then it would be understandable for you to be addicted to feeling happier/more under control, right?

Only if you like to sleep, and get fat. I hate anti-psychotics.

yes. your body gets use to having a certain med act in a certain way in your system, when you dont take it, it is just like not taking a narcotic. The extreme may not be there but it works the same way.

Psychologically, yes it is addictive. Physically, no; Seroquel is meant to be weened off of.

yes you can get addicted to any mind altering substance because you get used to the positive side effects and when those are absent, you begin to feel unstable.

This is from WEB MD :There may be a slightly increased risk of serious, possibly fatal side effects (e.g., stroke, heart failure) when this medication is used in elderly patients with dementia. This medication is not approved for the treatment of dementia-related behavior problems. Discuss the risks and benefits of this medication, as well as other effective and possibly safer treatments for dementia-related behavior problems, with the doctor.

I was on the drug for 3 yrs and I had no problem. I was having sleeping trouble, anxiety, severe depression, and was newly diagnosed with bipolar. I am on a lot of meds for diff medical reasons besides depression and stress issues. The only thing that stopped me from taking seroquel is that it was not working anymore for me personally. Also, you may want to look up this lawyers site http://www.weitzlux.com/ His address and ph number is listed in the sources I listed also. I am mentioning them
as I was contacted by them concerning seroquel and diabetes. I believe there is some fact finding regarding a classs action suit checking into the link of this drug and diabetes some how. I hope the drug will find you relief and I hope you have no problems. Good luck and take care. Also a note be sure when you get a medication talk with your doctor and get a print out of info regarding meds. I review both and go on web md and mayo clinic site. I have had adverse and almost lethal experiences with medications because doctors and pharmacists errors. Take care. Dawn
