Ani Phyo’s Raw Food Kitchen – ABC Channel 7 appearance

www.AniPhyo.com -This is my ABC appearance on Nov 13, 2007. I’ll show you how to make my raw food recipe for “All American Apple Pie” recipe. Gluten free, wheat free, sugar free, organic, dairy free and good for you!! Delicious. Visit my raw food blog for more raw food recipe ideas, more videos, and organic ingredients: www.AniPhyo.com

Everyone knows tenpura. So I don’t think I need to explain this. All I need to tell you is I forgot to use”small quantity of grated giant white radish” and ”small quantity of grated ginger”. It’s much much better if you can prepare those ingredients. They are going to go with ten-tsuyu when you dip. Ingredients I used: 1. Shrimp 2. Onion 3. Carrot 4. Eggplant 5. Sweet potato 6. Leaves green perilla 7. Paprica (or bell pepper whatever you call) Tenpura sauce (Ten-tsuyu): 1. Water (90ml) 2. Soy sauce (1 tblsp) 3. Sake (3 tbsp) 4. Sugar (1 tbsp) 5. Katsuobushi (Bonito flake) Tenpura preparing butter 1. Egg yolk (1) 2. Icy cold water (To make 2/5 US cup with beaten egg yolk) 3. Sifted flour (2/5 US cup) 4. Baking powder (1 tsp) Check this channel. She is a singer song writer. @twat4556, so how do you keep your bowels moving smoothly and how do you get your fat that your brain needs?

It’s sounds very interesting, but I’m not a spanish talker and I can’t understand everything, only some parts of the conversation and explanation. I’m very interested in organic food (but with people who take it seriously). I’d need subttitles, in spanish (I’m from Basque Country, North East of spain), or if it is not possible, in english, please.

@InvisiMan2006 Im not sure what i think about all the nuts, but its definately better to use fruit instead of sugar.

@alicatr2 we do not need the curdled milk of another species. Please do not tell people we need it.

This looks Awesome! I’m pretty excited to make this! I’m avoiding dairy, gluten and refined sugars and I LOVE DESSERT! Thank you!!!! Another great use for local Washington Apples! ;)

  13. alicatr2 says:

This pie was so awesome. It’s better if it sets over night. We still need butter in our system too, please don’t forget that.

  14. InvisiMan2006 says:

While this pie may not have a lot of the “bad” stuff we are use to, the dates and almonds put the sugar and fat WAY over the top. More fat than a regular pie and more sugar (yes, fruit sugar is still sugar) than soda pop. Still yummy though.

    im gonna make this… woohoo!!

I made this pie last week, and I can tell you, it is amazing! It tastes just as good (if not better) than conventional apple pie, and it leaves a clean feeling in my body. Luv it! <3

im all about eating healthy and i make most of the food i eat from scratch, but when did eggs and protien and “cooked” food become bad for you (when not eaten in excess). this whole raw thing is not good for humans….our digestive system can not process it efficiently. period.

ps…for those of you that dont know (which is most of you) a chicken will lay an egg ever 25.5 hours no matter what…..

    Yo what’s up Ani,
thanks for your consistent work and giving to the world. I appreciate you never gave up on your purpose, you are making a difference in peoples families, health, relationships, and tastebuds! I’m making this recipe in the morning for my cousins family, and I already know the reaction I’m gonna get. I’ve made this apple gold piece of art before… thanks for making it simple and environmentally freindly too. OH.. ! I also made your almond nori rolls. THE BEST! You’re beautiful.

  22. healthfreak18 says:

That looks amazing. :-) Yeah everytime I eat cooked processed pies (and desserts in general) I feel sick to my stomach and they don’t even taste good to me anymore but I know this will be good.

  23. midnightcloudgazer says:

I made a variation of this for the first time today. It turned out great! The blended orange/date syrup is brilliant. The only thing I did different was to use a sunflower seed/raisin crust instead of the almonds (I didn’t have time for the soaking required). Also, I chopped the apples much smaller in the food processor instead of the larger slices shown. I also omitted the whole raisins due to so many in the crust. My parents and I love this pie!

@japloverjp Me and my mom cooked tempura last last week. The water you will use should be very, very icy cold. Almost ice. it will make it really crispy and crunchy. cook it to about low to medium heat so it will not be to soggy and oily. Hope I helped. :)

  28. japloverjp says:

Hi runny, I’ve tried cooking tempura a few times but failed. It turned out oily, soggy and not crispy after short while. Hope you can help. : )

  29. ArtuKam says:

hey runny, what are you dusting the food with? Is it flour ?

  30. FayIrvanto says:

Nice and easy-to-follow. I like the opening too! Different from any other cooking video. Good job!

  31. Melgasaurus22 says:

lol “idk how you pronounce…. PAPRIKA!!!”

    Yolk? Are you sure?

  33. patissoriano says:

    you are adorable! hahahaha

  34. 16DDHhyuga says:

    GOOD:)

  35. lateblossom says:

@TheAniy21 I have no idea if the bonito batter is typical of the dish but yea, maybe he did make it differently, simply from scratch. Tempura bonito batter can be found in any Asian store at least where I am. But if you couldn’t find it, then his way would be the obvious way to make it. I believe the bonito batter to be the genuine taste though because regular flour I don’t think has the same effect in taste.

  36. TheAniy21 says:

@lateblossom i guess he made it differently for those who dont have access to asian stores. or…this might be a silly assumption but maybe they dont have the bonito batter in japan?

  37. PlatypusGuitar says:

@trident3b I think what youre talking about is the vein. He shows you how to remove it in the video but sometimes you buy shrimp and the vein is already out.

  38. LuckeeLaura says:

Papriiica, Paprica, Paprica, I don’t know how you pronounce…PAPRICA!
Haha good gracious you are so adorable!! Possibly my favourite youtube video just because of that :)

  39. Karol8910 says:

  40. candygirl0166 says:

This is the BEST tempura I’ve ever made or eaten!! The batter is sooo light, unlike some of the thick battered ones at some restaurants. The batter is so thick that customers are fooled to think that the shrimp are huge! Thank you for your delicious recipe. I’m going to try to cook more of your recipes! Btw, I already subscribed!! :)

  41. KonvoyChief says:

“…some kind of leaf” – classic.

  42. lateblossom says:

You make it differently than I have coked it. When I go to Publix, or the Asian store, they simply have a regular bonito batter. You just heat up the wok and prepare the premade batter, fry it in the oil and you’re done.

  43. 6tu6e says:

It seems to taste very delicious!

  44. StarleePie47 says:

I had tempura for lunch yesterday. Oishi desu!!!

  45. SugarHighDD says:

of dear…you make me want to eat tempura…so bad

  46. trident3b says:

I love these lessons.. good job. One silly question… isn’t there a bit in the middle of the shrimp – effectively the gut – a sort of dark string that should be removed first? Not sure… but I though I recall seeing that this need be removed, or am I mixing this up with another sort of shrimp??

  47. Shanongao says:

I did that but I put in some corn starch and in stead of water I added BEER!!!

  48. Pinzist says:

    @TweetySkywalker YES!

  49. AltimaNEO says:

How long do you let it cook? I want to try making tempura tomorrow, but I’m worried that the sweet potato may still be raw.

    Thanks!

  50. trident3b says:

what an endearing fellow. I must try a few of those dishes. I love Japanese food.
