Everyone assumes that Amy Winehouse died from a drug overdose, but that might not be the case. There is a new theory surrounding Amy’s death . She may have died because she stopped drinking alcohol. Her decision to quit booze completely after years of heavy drinking could have caused her body to go into a state of shock or seizure, which killed her at her home in Camden. A source said: “Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death.” Amy visited the doctor at 8pm before she passed away and he said everything was ok with her. Whatever happened between 8pm and 4pm the next day remains a mystery. Toxicology reports should shed some light on the case, but those won’t be in for another few weeks. @monk22yrs I know,i was born in the 60s….i have not been brainwashed at all.I lived that life,been there done that and i was one of those hippies.When i said it was a disease it was only because thats what society and the 12 step program (rehab) calls it…You are not telling me nothing i dont already know.I am against the 12 step program but i dont really get into those conversations in here.IShe didnt die from drugs anyway?

@monk22yrs It was just in today..there was no drugs in her system.There was alcohol in her system but not enough to kill her.I never did put Amy in the same league as anyone else that has cancer or any disease.I just said she had a disease……RIP Amy <3

Amy didnt die because she quit she died because she drunk 1 bottle of vodka every night leading up to her death and she died because of drink overdose and drug overdose £1600 of drugs O_o

@moe80ca That’s not true. I have heard of different deaths involving alcohol withdrawal. For me, I’m recovering from drug addiction, and the withdrawals are bad enough, that I HAD to call professional help. Not only are you sick, weak, and physically useless, you’re also mentally useless. I’m not sure what happened, and I guess I really want to know. Either way, I’m really going to miss her. Regardless of her alcohol and drug addiction, we needed somebody as original and brilliant as her.
@moe80ca I’m a pharmacist (and a recovering alcoholic), and you can definitely die from alcohol withdrawal if it’s bad enough. That’s why hospitals do the CIWA protocol, and that’s why they’ll turn away a heroin withdrawal patient but not an alcoholic one if beds are scarce. Having said that, I doubt that’s what caused AW’s death. I’ve never heard an alcoholic dying from shock because he or she stopped drinking. Sounds like something a PR person would say.

as a chemist and drug designer I never heard of alcohol fatal withdraw even if the person goes cold turkey .There is never been a case of “death due to alcohol withdraw “at any Incarceration institution that prohibits alcohol whereas there might be worse alcoholic addiction cases that jailed and exposed to a sudden quitting and for long term. Let me know if someone doesn’t agree (medical professional or incarceration correctional employee response preferred).
