Does anyone know anything about DSS in South Carolina?? Can you provide some help explaining this procedure?

Question by Sunny: Does anyone know anything about DSS in South Carolina?? Can you provide some help explaining this procedure?
My boyfriends daughter is under DSS investigation because she was molested by her step father. The little girl is 9 years old. The step father has not went to jail and supposedly this has been going on for like 6 months. SHe goes to DSS counseling in Anderson SC one day a week. DSS says that she cant even be alone with her with real father without the mother present unless my boyfriend takes a hair strand test because the step father has called DSS and said that he uses drugs and plus the mother got a divorce from my bf on drugs and alcohol. Any way my boyfriend was supposed to go take a hair strand test at the DSS office this morning. Does anyone know the procedures for this?? I know my boyfriend has been using drugs pot and meth. He says they go back 6 months on the hairstrand test. Can someone please tell me what happens in situations like this?? I dont understand how long they have to investigate before they will also send the stepfather to jail. It has been a month

the investigation could take as much as a year untill charges are filed. If there are drugs present in the hair sample, the parent/step parent will be restrained from visitations.the girl is in protective custody of the state so they make the rules.
