Q&A: Why dose the UK government, always think the answer is tax?

Question by Gordon B: Why dose the UK government, always think the answer is tax?
Alcohol is in the news today. With calls to increase the price, because of binge drinking and underage drinking. The supermarkets they blamed for cheep alcohol are not frequented by underage drinkers. And the town centre drunkenness, is a result of very expensive town centre pub prices.
The question isn’t about alcohol, but by the use of taxes to try to solve problems.

    Its very simple.

Because when your name is Gordon Brown, you came to the treasury when there was a £19bn surplus, you spent a decade plundering it, and left it with a £220bn deficit, you’ve got to do something to try and do something to repair the MASSIVE hole your monumental incompetence has left in the countries finances, before the country actually goes broke!!!

It’s a depressing thought that it’ll require £10,000 from every tax payer in the country to repair the damage. So you can reasonably expect more of the same tax-wise, and that means even more that the current 161 stealth taxes he’s introduced since arriving at number 11.

Petrol and diesel is set for a 2p increase as of April and that’s got nothing to do with helping the health of the nation, so the only reason they tax is because they have no other ideas.
