Every day i take vicodine ,which is a narcotic, so what can i do so i dont become addicted even if i have to take it for a long time and my family all have addictive personalitys??

Let your doctor know that there are some genetic predispositions to addiction in your family. He should try to get you off the script as soon as possible and put you on non-narc pills asap.
Make sure none of those pills are disappearing out of your bottle too.
This is a very serious matter.

vicodine is very addicitive. if you do become addicted to it, consoult your doctor. they shoud be able to help you quit or switch to another pain medicine. although the stronger pain meds usually have codine which is addictive as well. i would suggest talking to your doctor for info
Talk to your doctor about your concerns. He can then either design a med withdrawal plan or a change of medicine for you. The sooner you do this the easier it will be for you. Good luck.
First of all, why do you take Vicodin every day? I know a lot of people that have become addicted while taking it and it was prescribed by their medical doctor. I don’t know why doctors continue to prescribe it.
If I were you I would talk to your doctor regarding your concerns. I would ask him(her) if another drug could be given instead. Especially if it is going to be a long term drug.
