What are the methods of combatting inge drinking and the advantages and disadvantages of each method? Eg. raising the price per unit.

Avoiding situations where alcohol is available + the often-immature people who drink
in such quantities.
Disadvantages:
Higher chance of brain cells going byebye, DUI, vomit / blackout / alcohol poisoning, STD’s and/or pregnancy depending on your gender due to unsafe sex with someone you may not know very well .. Symptoms take longer to recover from ..

Raising the price per unit won’t stop binge drinking. It’s impulsive behavior caused by immaturity and circumstances. Tex is right about the hazards involved in binge drinking. The only way to stop it is for responsible people to limit or forbid alcohol at social occasions. There’s not much that can be done for people who do it alone — they need professional help.
