You did this very well. My brother smokes (he’s a meth addict, but even when he’s doing well in his efforts to get clean, he continues to smoke cigarettes) and it kills me to hear him coughing the nasty smoker’s cough. I’m a cancer survivor, and it is NOT fun — I wish that would scare him more. I keep hoping he’ll start loving himself enough to have that desire to respect his body and spirit… Goodness knows the TONS of people who love him aren’t enough when he doesn’t like himself. : (

@BaileyandAlyssa1 I hope you keep that mindset! My sister was like me when we were younger, she hated smoking, but started hanging out with the wrong crowd and started when she was 16 (she’s now 21) so I’ve been trying to get her to stop too. My parents have been somewhat talking about stopping more now, so hopefully they’re serious. Just whatever you do, don’t give up trying to get them to stop. It’s a hard habit, but if you keep begging them, who knows what can happen :)
@chyeahmishelle i know how you feel both my parents are smokers and i ask them to stop again and again and they worry me because i dont want them to die before I even graduate high school, to be honest the only difference between your story and mine is im only 13 and i have an 11 year old brother, we will never smoke anything.

@addernoir01 I honestly will never ever try one. It may sound childish, but I don’t even like handling the packs of cigarettes, a cigarette itself, or ashtrays. I’m the only one in my immediate family that doesn’t smoke (minus my 9 + 5 year old nieces). My mom, dad, 2 sisters and brother in law smoke, as well as all of their friends. I’ve never had the urge to try it and never will. I see the destruction it does and luckily I have the will and strength to not do it, not many people have that.
@chyeahmishelle I’m an ex-smoker. Don’t you ever, ever even go near one. Just because your parents smoke and you’ve seen it all happen you maybe think you can try one and be safe (it happened to me). You can’t. It could get you too. Don’t ever even try a single draw on a cigarette. If you want to know what it’s like to smoke just light a fire in the back garden and stand over it and inhale. Deeply.
