Q&A: Should anything be done about the varies news outlet who reported that drugs’ were the cause of Heath’s death?

Question by AtiaoftheJulii: Should anything be done about the varies news outlet who reported that drugs’ were the cause of Heath’s death?
If Heath was my son, etc.. I would sue the pants off of Fox, MSN, Nancy Grace, and many of the paper media that errorenous stated he was a “drug” user who loves to drink alcohol and insulated that Heath was gay.

The only way to hurt these worms is to hit them where it hurts..in their pockets. If the companies that employ these infestations are constantly paying out “forgiveness money” they will eventually fire them.
Example: TMZ has learned Heath Ledger had a substance abuse problem. A Ledger confidante tells us he had been clean for a year.

Contrary to several published reports, we’re told Ledger had not been in rehab.
Diffin: Look for the video of Fox News’ anchorman John Gibson.

Apparently you didnt hear about the incident or simply do not follow the news…

You’re right and its disgusting. Don’t worry, eventually in life those people will all get it back to then 10 fold. I promise ya. Til then, just don’t believe everything you hear and go with your gut instincts on a person. Heath was loved by many, and its a shame what they are doing.

Amen! Good for you! The press has become nothing but a pack of paid liars, they are worse than worthless.

Absolutely, not only is that type of journalism unethical but it also opens the news organization up to be sued. I am sure that they will issue multiple retractions and apologies.

Unfortunately, as we all know too well, even after a retraction in the story and an apology the majority of the public will still want to believe that the he was a drug addict. Bad news is more entertaining than good news. I remember a while back when a news agency accused an individual of bombing an Olympic game. Later that individual was found to be innocent but still to this day most people remember him as “that guy that bombed the Olympics.” In more recent years, Bush accused Iraq of possessing WMDs and even after publicly admitting (more than once) that that was just bad intelligence and that they did NOT have WMDs, some people still believe to this day that they did have them.

If I known for sure that they insulated that he was gay, I would probably sew them pretty bad, cause we knpow that he wasn’t no gay. And it’s a good thing that you no he never drunk alcohol or drugs – so now you can tell everyone and they will beleive you. But especially hte part about him not being gay or a sissy and stuff. That makes me mad cause he is dead so he can’t defend himself, even though he is not really gay anyway.

It really is too bad that these folks get away with insinuating such nasty things about anyone – much less someone who is dead and can no longer defend himself. It is a particularly heinous thing to do to his family.

Unfortunately, the media can just say that they got their information from some unnamed source – and continue on smearing the name of whomever they please so that they can sell a few more copies of their smutty magazines.

It would be great if they were sued and got hit that way – the other way to hit these companies is to not buy their magazines or use their news services, and to let them know why. A quick letter shot off to the news director or owner of the company – if multiplied by hundreds or thousands would actually make a difference.
