Question by thiagoleal: How is the permission for selling of alcoholic beverages in the State of Massachusetts?
Are convenience stores and diners allowed to sell alcoholic beverages in the State of Massachusetts?
If they are, may they sell distilled spirits, like whiskey?
If they’re not, where can I found distilled spirits? Only in liquor stores?

Alcohol Licenses (“beer & wine” and “all alcohol”) are assigned by the state to each city/town on a per capita (population) basis. Each city/town has a committee that regulates the issuing of these licenses.
Most, if not all, convenience stores and supermarkets have a “beer & wine” license and may not sell hard liquor. The only places I know you can get hard liquor (distilled spirits) is a liquor store.
There are also licenses (“beer & wine” and “all alcohol”) for the serving of alcohol, which are also regulated on a per capta basis.
