Question by MiMiZ: was in a car accident i am in alot of pain but a addict what can i take?
im an addict i cant take narcotics…i was in a car accident and my neck and back are completely messed up ..motrin, tylanol, an aleve dont touch the pain. i tryed neproxin( i heard is aleve) dont do it, im afraid to get cortazone shot for fear of weight gain. does anyone have any suggestions?

Cortisone does cause weight gain, and no one likes that, however, which would you rather have? The pain or a few extra pounds? The weight you gain is not going to be a significant amount and is something that you can also take off by watching what you eat. The weight gain comes because Cortisone increases your appetite, causing you to eat more, thus, the weight gain. Therefore, just be careful with what you eat.
I know what excruciating pain is all about…been there, done that, still doing it. I would much rather gain a few pounds and feel better, then to deal with pain all of the time. So, take the medicine!! :)

If you can’t take prescribed narcotics then it’s going to be a tough road for you ,y friend. This is all there’s out there right now, no other synthetic drugs in this field are as good as narcotics. You might want to try a pain clinic, they can give you injections that might help.
