Question by Phantasm: What’s worse: Binge Drinking or Smoking?
Everybody makes out that smokers are the spawn of satan – it’s encouraged to be rude to smokers. But people who get drunk are given a pat on the back – why is everybody so impressed with alcohol? Don’t get me wrong – I go out and get drunk but I don’t brag about it like everyone seems to nowadays
They say things like “I drank 20 pints last night and was still standing by the end of the night” or “I can drink you under the table any day” wow well done what do you want? A medal?
The thing is though if you smoke people get so angry about it – I know there’s been a lot in the news about passive smoking so I can see why they brought in the smoking ban in the UK but now people go outside where all the smokers are and start fake coughing to make a point? If you are worried about passive smoking then stay away from the cigarette smoke – It doesn’t give you a right to be completely rude and insult them for smoking. I’m fed up with people saying I smell of smoke when their breath smells like sh!t but I don’t say any thing – why? because it’s down right rude that’s why!
I’m fed up of not being able to walk through town on an evening without some drunk lout shouting abuse at me for no reason – people say that smoking is worse than smoking but how many times have you heard of a person smoking too many fags then getting into their car and driving it into some kids and killing them?
I say there are far more alcohol related deaths in the uk than smoking – smoking doesn’t cause violence or anti-social behavior.
I was once sat on a bench having a cigarette when no one was there when this lady came and sat next to me to eat her pasty. She then had the bloody cheek to ask me to leave so she can eat her lunch – I told her to p!ss off I was there first – if she doesn’t like the smoke then she shouldn’t have chosen to sit by me – i actually think she only did it to cause trouble!! Complete strangers will approach me and tell me to give up and that smoking is disgusting – and i end up all embarrassed and apologetic! i wouldn’t approach an obese person and tell them to loose weight because i find it disgusting!!
I’m fed up of coming out of my house on a saturday or sunday morning and have to navigate my way through the sh!t and puke that the drinkers leave behind
Don’t get me wrong – I want to give up smoking I know it’s bad for you – all I’m saying is that so is alcohol but people who drink are patted on the back while smokers are made out to be the scum of the earth
if i had to choose between being locked in a room with a sober smoker or a non-smoking drunk – i know what i’d choose
Alcoholics are given sympathy for their addictions but smokers are treated like filth

Binge drinking is a big problem in the UK.. one 15 year old girl drinks a bottle of alcohol per day.. she has not been able to go to school for one year because the next morning she has a big hangover.. she will leave school and have no education.. that’s definitely not good and it causes liver disease.. .and smoking.. is expensive.. and see what happened to Amy Winehouse.. she got the beginning of emphysema.. she can stop it now.. and be alright but only if she gives up smoking for the rest of her life otherwise the alevoli in the lungs get less and less air more and more alevoli die .. so she will be gasping for air and to die of emphysema is a terrible death .. so I would say.. both is not a good idea.. if you want a long and healthy life.. and the money you spend on cigarettes .. amounts to over 3000 dollars a year.. if you buy one packet every day of the week.. and binge drinkers can’t ever find a job or get a proper education especially if they start binge drinking in teenage years.. they have nothing .. and end up on the streets… homeless unless someone takes them in… cheap booze.. and passed out and homeless and abused and raped in the streets that’s no life at all.. that’s worse than being a prostitute.. theyt live in danger if they have no education and later nobody to take them in… and if they don’t admit to themselves they need help and are alcoholics and join the AA then there is no hope for them…
