Question by rap is back.: Does anybody else use binge drinking as a way to lose weight?
When I start feeling alittle on the bloated side, I drink a fifth of tequila, in shots of course, but over the course of the night will polish off that puppy. Well, usually, over the next immediate day I will have lost about 5 lbs and another 5 over the course of a couple days….is this safe?

    1) If you continue doing this, your liver will be shot to hell. I would stop if I were you.
    2) Alcohol actually tends to make you gain weight over time (beer belly?). That is why they say one of the cardinal rules of dieting is to limit the amount of alcohol you take in.

Drinking to lose weight is like spending money to get rich. You’re doing the opposite of what you should be doing.

  8. jrthrmn says:

Alcohol dehydrates you, and 5 pounds is about how much water weight you will lose if you drink a fifth of tequila. If you consider the fact that there are about 100 calories in 1 shot, how many calories do you suppose are in a fifth? So, while you are losing water weight you are gaining fat weight from the calories. If you keep this up over time you will gradually gain weight.

Sure it’s safe! Plus it puts a lovely haze on all the things that are annoying you (such as feeling a bit on the bloated side, or damn annoying attorneys and legals battles). Cheers to you!
