the plan was prescribed diamorphine for problem addicts for free, it still saves the people cash.
it was supervised injections several times a day- inconvenient if u lived miles away!
when they did take home DM some people did sell their to buy street smack as the feeling is better for some reason!!! most obey the instructions though, opiod tolerance does level out so the doses become stable also. It depends on the persons mentality whether they glutonise or not I think.
@tpvalley pilot scheme? what was the plan and what was the goal? the swiss approach? They give it out for free to addicts who have been through all other treatments and can’t stay clean. and it works, people end up doing less when given a free unlimited supply of pure heroin, nobody wants to be sick when they don’t get a hit. People think junkies would just abuse it but they don’t, that is my understanding of it anyways.

I think it is amazing how far addiction can take somebody, I mean it takes you to places you would never go with a sober head. The depression can make you go insane and practically kill yourself to get a hit. Things you would never think of doing, you do. it’s sad and amazing.
@tpvalley or instead of burning the heroin and opium, give it to a company to make medicines for countries with morphine shortages. There is a world shortage of morphine and they just waste it.
