Question by captaco: How does my father get off of Hydrocodone after a car accident?
My parents were in a horrific car accident about 6 months ago. Dad has been on Hydrocodone ever since. His doctors are telling him he is addicted to the drug and needs to get off of it. However – if he does not take it his pain is overwhelming. Are there any “natural” pain reliever (capsacian, devils claw, white willow bark etc) that can be used in combination with a less narcotic pain reliever. He is not taking the Hydo excessively – and is trying to cut it down.

they should be referring him to a pain management clinic if its that bad

He needs to go see a pain management doctor. It is not a bad thing that he is still taking hydrocodone, it is bad that he is still having so much pain.
