Because the …holes assume that we are all addicted, when allot of us who talk about it have actual PAIN and need a informative answer, not a lecture. They do not know you,and its wrong for people to think that about you. What did you ask before that people judged you?I will give you an answer,if I can.No Lecture!!

Well your never gonna get that from me. And there are a lot of cool nurses on here but than again there are also a lot that think a lousy 2 year course turns them into pharmacologists and doctors and the truth of the matter, unless they ever used opiates I will run circles completely around any RN on this topic, any, so if there reading this , try me. I am sick of the arrogance too and they don’t know a thing, they think opiate withdrawal are cravings, I guess like a cigarette. I been studying and taking opiates legally for 10 years, weaned off 200 mg’s of methadone a day and a doubt any RN would compete with me.

But what do you expect, these are the same nurses that will walk 75 feet to get a aid to answer a call light;instead of answering the call light themselves that are standing next to, because they ARE too good to do that. A lot of nurses get their lic. out of Cracker Jack boxes.

The US Drug Enforcement Agency is going to send the pharmacist letters about early narcotic prescription refills if s/he gets into that habit. You are not getting a letter. So, who has the right to get defensive?

Yea i know its pretty lame…..pain medication are misunderstood by most people. they just see it as another drug that people take to get high. But if i didn’t have my pain medication i couldn’t walk or do anything without pain….but people just see me as a junkie, even though i take my meds exactly as the doctor told me too. I have noticed on here how people just lecture about “you need rehab” or “your a loser”. Its freaking stupid. I hope those people consider themselves lucky that they don’t have to live in pain everyday like I do.

  6. ER Nurse says:

Pharmacists are restricted on when they can refill a prescription. If it is a six day supply then they cannot refill it before the sixth day. If you have chronic pain, then you should think about seeing a pain management specialist. Instead of going to the pharmacy every 6 days, they would treat your pain with a monthly prescription and a monthly evaluation of the treatment plan. Chronic pain is a fact of life for many people, and pain medicines have their place when properly managed.

It’s just stupid, ignorant people who make thoughtless remarks like that. Through experience I’ve learned not to tell anyone what medication I am taking. Pain medicine exists to treat pain, it’s that simple, I live in Canada, and I have a drug plan that covers all my medications. The only time the pharmacist will ask me to pay is if I am asking for the prescription too early. There’s no point in even trying to educate people. They will make a thoughtless remark about “oh that stuff is addictive” instead of asking you what does it feel like to have horrible, unrelenting pain every minute of every hour 24 hours a day. It sucks,

Unless you’ve experienced chronic pain, you can’t understand it. I envy these people that have never suffered, as it affects everything you do. I would tell them exactly that. And also, live a day in my life and let me know how it goes, while I borrow your PERFECT body.
