no.
if you deal with your previous addiction by using alcohol, you’re likely to get addicted to it…. especially since you’ve already demonstrated that you have an addictive personality.
You just gotta do it. No easy way. Just be strong, and remember that this is only temporary and you’ll get through it.
it definitely will help take the edge off. just don’t drink and drive.
I did oxycontin for about 3 years. I went through withdrawals cold turkey, since my insurance wouldn’t approve inpatient rehab. It was horrible for about 2 weeks, but I got through it. I’m so glad I did, too! It’s worth it. Just keep in touch with your doctor (quitting cold turkey could be harmful to your health) and take warm baths. keep yourself busy, get plenty of rest and get involved with a counselor. Good luck to you.
I’m “detoxing” myself off of percoset and xanax (I was taking for 4 years) I cannot sleep! I’m so friggin tired! anyway I tried drinking saturday night and all it really did was upset my stomach. If you really want to detox yourself, I think you are just going to have to suffer through it. I wish there was an easier more comfortable way cause it sucks! good luck
It’s not a good idea! As has already been pointed out to you,you will be replacing one problem with another. In my opinion the best way to beat a narc addiction is to just sweat it out. Don’t believe people who tell you it’s just like having flu and you will be well in 3 days. Expect at least 2 weeks before you feel well and a few months before you get your sleep patterns right again. It’s worth it, you’ll have your life back. It is possible, I know, I did 10 yrs on heroin and now have been clean for 10 yrs too. It’s a great world out here, come and join us! Good Luck.
you r just feeding one addiction for another .if with draws are bad it can kill you id go to a rehab or to a dr .and then 90 meeting in 90 days na i dont know what drug you took but i did both and went to rehab for over 30 days i went through h ll and i thank god i wasnt alone good luck god bless
NO!!! For someone with an additive personality, trying to take care of one addtion with another addictive substance is just adding another problem…To fight it you just have to take it one day at a time…My sister in law has been fighting her narcotic addition for years now…She joined NAA and has been very successful with the group…After cleaning herself up she got custody of all 5 of her kids, has a good steady job and is living life sober…I wish you the best of luck…Look up NAA in the phone book, it can help…GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!
When you stop doing drugs you should be very careful about drinking or even taking a Rx meds. They to can become your new addiction. They call it a crossover addiction or crossover drug.
Sorry to say that the withdrawal part has to run it’s course. Best to keep yourself busy. Take walks or exercise to keep the anxiety down. Find a new hobby. If it gets real bad find a Narcotics Anonymous meeting in your area. You can look for meetings in your area on line. There is always a NA meeting going on through out the day and night.
Good job on becomeing clean and sober. You should be very proud of your self.
Take care and don’t give up!
It’s actually changing deck chairs on the titanic!
Obviously there are alot of people here in Y/A that have been where you are & empathize with you. Go to na.org & find meetings in your area,…at the very least you will kill an hour or so and find kindred spirits at the meetings.
remedies??? stay hydrated! try easy foods like chicken soup, rice, etc.until your stomach gets back near normal.
are you taking vitamin/mineral supplements? some mineral have a positive effect on muscle aches and cramping,….
hang in there! you’ll be happy you did!
