Why is stopping cold turkey for an alcoholic worse than for a heroin addict?

I learned this from my Psychology professor but he didn’t want to explain it yet because we are not that far. He said the alcoholic would die but the heroin addict would not. So what is your experience with it?

What do you think? Should Mexico legalize marijuana, cocaine, and heroin?

I read on the news today there’s new law before the Mexican lawmakers to legalize certain amounts of these drugs in their country & that it will probably pass.
