Question by Rebellovin: Women who are addicted to pregnancy?
I found this article on MSN homepage.
It reads -And this is just a quote from it-

Having babies isn’t addictive in the way that alcohol and narcotics can be. But bumpaholics feel compelled to procreate for many of the same reasons that substance abusers turn to booze or drugs.

“Women who are obsessed with being pregnant are literally filling an emptiness inside of them, just as alcoholics and drug addicts use substances to fill a psychological void,” says Beverly Hills psychiatrist Carole Lieberman, M.D. Every one of us at some point encounters this void, adds New York family therapist Bonnie Eaker Weil, Ph.D., author of “Financial Infidelity.” “You want to have a purpose in this world. You want to feel less lonely.”

It’s not hard to understand why: People smile at you, throw you baby showers, buy you lots of gifts. And the rounder your belly gets, the more space you take up in the world, and the more people take notice of you. In many respects, you become impossible to ignore.

————–

So my question is, is pregnancy addictive?
And if so, then do you believe that is why Nada Suleman aka -Rude nick name- Octomom, gave birth to so many children?
Full Story Here

http://health.msn.com/pregnancy/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100243083&page=1

No NO NO Mommy ofa beautiful baby boy -Congrats by the way- But Nada asked her doc to implant so many of them inside of her, it wasn’t a accident or the correct procedure, I just thought I’d put that out in the open, She actually wanted all them implanted inside of her.

Best answer:

Answer by Mommy to a beautiful baby boy
Octomom only had so many children at one time because of fertility treatments. and it is a risk you take when getting those- multiple babies at one time

What do you think? Answer below!

Answers of “women want a little of both” will not be accepted. Either you want a healthy guy or you don’t. It’s that simple.

Answer by juicyher
Why do men think that all women think that healthy responsible men are boring or too nice? There are plenty of women who prefer a healthy, responsible man that will be nice to them. Perhaps you are just trying to mingle with the wrong women?

Question by errie: Should selfish women who smoke, take drugs or drink alcohol be prosecuted for Foetus Abuse whilst pregnant.?
Considering the damage that these women do to themselves, should we consider the damage they are doing to the baby.
We are banning or have banned smoking in some public places for health reasons, and drug abuse is illegal. We all know alcohol destroys our brain cells, and causes liver damage. So why should these women be allowed to poison their unborn babies because they are too selfish to stop. Dont they feel any guilt by hindering the development of their own offspring. When those babies are born they are addicts just like their mothers, only thing is they cant nip off for a quick fix like the mothers can. The babies have to go through cold turkey. How can some women not see that. My last point is really about the “I smoked through all my kids and they came out ok” theory. Heres a bit of news for you. They didnt , they were born addicted to nicotine thanks to you. I really hope this question kicks up a storm. It is meant to, for the sake of your babies.
What! so you can give your kid drugs and booze whilst in the womb, but you can’t once its born. Would you give your five year old half a bottle of whiskey, NO, so why do it to an unborn baby who is having a hard enough time trying to grow and develop. Also the rules and laws were made by the demand of the common people who could see the damage and not by someone who just wants to spoil your fun. These details are for the likes of reality who have not yet grown up and wont face reality.
Also you may wish to research the info on damaged Placenta’s. You know, the babies food bag. Check out the damage caused by smoking bit. Its not nice but at least you will know the truth.
What about freedom of choice for the unborn baby. It has no choice about being poisoned by its addict mother. If you smoke, drink or do drugs during pregnancy then you have no respect for the child you are carrying. What is the matter with you women. All the proof is there but you choose to ignore it for your own selfish addictive reasons.
Wake up 3_dollar, bad grammar wont help your unborn baby, but giving up toxic substances will.
Point taken Elizabeth, and thanks for the constructive critisism, I will bear in mind your advice about coming across so strong.

Answer by Mishk
OOh you could be opening a can of worms on this one!!!
But no i don’t think so. Ylou’re effectively taking away a woman’s right to choose just because she’s pregnant, and that’s just not on! But I can see your point entirely.

I appreciated the debate in the March 6 Free Press about Vermont’s health care system (“Single-payer bill on the move”): The desire to slow it down and get questions answered before moving forward, alongside the desire to move it forward, because change is long overdue and we cannot afford to wait.

Exercise Prescribed For Cardiac Rehabilitation
A new study by researchers at the University of Alberta shows that for best results in stable patients after a heart attack, early exercise as well as prolonged exercise is the key to the best outcomes. Study co-authors Mark Haykowsky, researcher in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Alex Clark, researcher in the Faculty of Nursing, along with fellow U of A researchers Don Schopflocher …

Question by luvbeanies: What are some ethical dilemmas in counseling young women who are struggling with eating disorders?
I’m writing a paper on ethics in counseling, and once I get my masters/PhD, I want to counsel young women struggling with eating disorders, self-harm, abuse, addiction, etc… Can you think of any possible ethical dilemmas that might arise?

Best answer:

Answer by Khnopff71
How do you define ‘wellness’ in a patient without unconsciously trying to replicate their lack of judgement in the treatment? In other words, if a girl is making herself sick because of the information (negative) she receives from others, or thinks she receives, how do you not reinforce her lack of personality, since if she had a strong enough personality to begin with, she wouldn’t be under so much outside influence (one that has now been internalized.)

Also, does the term ‘healthy’ also have cultural connotations to it that can affect a strictly medical and psychological determination independent of itself? We say that ‘overweight’ people are ‘unhealthy’ but in what way? Does physical health always overrule mental health? Can an overweight person be happy or is part of why they are unhappy because others have ‘made’ them unhappy, using weight as a means of leverage against their personality? Does ‘diet’, although constructive, also carry unhealthy implications within it that medicine (and psychology) ignore? Can a person of professional weight and authority (and thus of influence over others) maintain a professional distance enough to be able to advise without making a biased judgement, using science and ‘facts’ as a way to avoid other areas of accountability that are no less real, although they might be less ‘factual’?

Obesity and eating-disorders are related, thus thoughts and opinions about the same also are related, since controlled and uncontrolled weight are simply mirror aspects of the same condition. Girls don’t obsess over their weight unless they also obsess over what they could, or do or think they, weigh.

What do you think? Answer below!

He called her the “B” word one too many times, and she now believes 42 is the ripe age for Dan to get out of the house and spread his wings. Look out world!
Question by @§§: Alcohol good for men but not women? Read on..?
Study showed that men who drank a bit of beer everyday lowered their risk of heart disease. http://www.realbeer.com/news/articles/news-000856.php
but older women who drink alcohol everyday increased their risk of breast cancer by 51%.

http://health.yahoo.com/news/reuters/breastcancer_alcohol_dc.html

There’s also an article somewhere on yahoo about beer lowering heart disease risk, it’d be cool if someone found it.

Best answer:

Answer by Sophia B
That makes sense; men can’t get breast cancer.

But you say older women–were the men also older? And look at the source, too. Beer companies pushing their products as good probably aren’t that trustworthy.
